On Apartment Therapy
We keep hearing about Design & Comfort, but we have never bought anything there. Like many other furniture stores that cater only to New Yorkers, it has a little bit for everyone with a distinctively contemporary style that is easy on the eye, but edgeless in all directions. Of note, however, they specialize in furniture that will fit into smaller spaces, as well as furniture that does double duty, hiding storage underneath or expanding to become bigger.

Wow-we have had nothing but good results and honest dealings with Design & Comfort.
Dealt with Harvey, the manager and Ira the owner. Got our entertainment unit from Park Ave. Got our Dining Set and 6 chairs, Park Ave. Breakfront-ditto; got our coffee table 1/2 off floor model when Soho closed; ordered a special piece for my LP collection-huge breakfront.
Everything delivered well-cared for correctly.
Granted-we haven't been in in over 18 months-so I don't know what has changed and now I heard they are moving.
I even dealt with Signature Leather for a Natuzzi Couch and Chair and did well with it.
All told we probably have spent $8-9,000 with them and never had a major problem.
Sorry to hear of such issues. Mike & Caren on Mar 15, 2007
1 March 2007 We purchased a glass top table about a year ago and also pre-paid for delivery to our place in Florida. We were assured they deliver to Florida often and it would be no problem. It arrived from Italy into their warehouse late last year, we were told. We tried to get delivery while down there in January, and on our return we were told that at the last minute? the shipper refused the delivery because it was too complicated to assemble. We have been calling almost daily for the past month and they do not respond or call back. I'm willing to work with them, even assemble the table myself but no one responds. Appalling customer service. To be continued... Doug on Mar 1, 2007
