On Apartment Therapy
We love Craigslist, but sometimes it feels like a badly behaved lover. Craigslist requires constant maintenance and you never know if you're going to get a call back. But, just often enough, you end up with a real peach.

Wow, it's interesting how everyone has a different Craigslist experience - I've been using CL (both buying and selling) for over 5 years (in L.A., Miami and D.C.) & have almost always put my phone # but have never received any weird calls.
I've been stood up a couple of times by people who said they were going to come and see something, but compared to how many have followed through, it has not been a big deal. BTW, my husband has always been home with me when someone has come over or we've gone together to look at or buy something.
Things we've bought: my husband's last car, pair of mid-century sofas, two dog crates, bicycle, we found a great apartment in DC which we we were able to sublet for a week from the owner, found a great & affordable furniture upholsterer and we've even found 2 great tenants for our house.. we've sold a Bose stereo system, my old car, etc.
Yet I know someone who was bombarded with spam the very first time he listed on CL.
Must be the luck of the draw?? I am a HUGE fan of Craiglist! curlscj on Dec 11, 2009
If you are anywhere near the Camp Lejeune MCB or New River MCAS (Jacksonville, North Carolina) region, please check out the Jacksonville NC Furniture store as they buy and sell used furniture all the time. Their website is http://jacksonvillencfurniture.com. Drop by the store during business hours for a free cup of coffee while you browse. Sea Witch Antiques on Jun 2, 2009
