No, Community Forklift does not sell forklifts! They are a nonprofit thrift store for home improvement supplies. The unusual name refers to thier mission: to "lift" up local communities by reducing waste; creating green jobs; educating the public about reuse; and making repairs affordable for homeowners, small businesses, and nonprofits. You can donate renovation leftovers to receive a tax deducation (schedule a pickup at www.CommunityForklift.com), or shop at their huge warehouse to save 30% - 90% off retail prices on modern and vintage kitchen cabinet sets, lumber, tools, hardware, landscaping materials, doors, windows, tubs, sinks, lighting, appliances, and more. Thanks to a consignment partnership with an antiques dealer, you can also find more unusual, higher-end architectural pieces in their "Salvage Arts" department (the prices are certainly higher, but it provides more variety: the items are not the kind of thing that are usually donated). The store is open Wed. thru Sun. (closed Mon & Tues). Dress for the weather (the warehouse is not climate-controlled). They encourage you to carpool or use the nearby bike path by offering a generous hold and storage policy - if you see something you like, you can always return later with a truck to pick it up. They are unable to help you load purchases into your vehicle, so take advantage of the storage time to track down some friends with muscles.
