We hate stores that make us feel frantic. We recently walked into a store and immediately made a U-turn right back outside because the loud music, the bright colors and the piles of products were just way too much. So when we come across shops like CANOE, located in downtown Portland, we put them on our list of regular haunts. The space feels so open (perhaps it's the large windows that provide a plethora of natural light), the goods are well-curated and you can actually have a relaxing shopping experience.

Viola - Pedant, really? Such fustian writing. Perhaps, in the future, we should avoid such cavils.

Pompousness and arrogance tends to be my pet peeve. tigerider3 on Jun 18, 2008

Canoe is great. Check out their condom dispensers. I give them as gifts all the time and everyone loves them. Their staff is very friendly and helpful; everything arrived quickly and packaged in a cool manner. djftex on Feb 7, 2008
