Speaking of lightbulbs, check out Bulborama, the online lighting superstore. Personally, we've never thought of buying bulbs online (we're guessing this site's main customers are businesses), but we like that this place has anything you could possibly think of, including an array of energy-saving products. Most interesting to us: the site offers gift certificates. What a bizarre yet useful gift idea (imagine the look on someone's face when opening this gift certificate...).

Thank u for the recommendations here. I was waiting to post back until I tested the bulborama products. I bought cfl's and some long life decorative bulbs for my home and office. I love them and I noticed right away they were much better than anything I found at local stores. Also I found out they provide the lighting for several property management companies in my town and heard excellent reviews from the managers there, so all in all this is a hidden gem of a company not too many consumers know about with wonderful products. Good lighting store. I purchased some spiral compact fluorescents a couple weeks ago. You can see by the construction they are top quality. I recommend their products and will buy more. Jack on Oct 18, 2006
