It's time to review this NY staple, Bed, Bath & Beyond. We have a love/hate relationship with this big, mall-like shop because it IS a great place to go for so many household items, but it gets so CROWDED and often we find the quality and the depth of stock is low.

I have worked for Bed Bath and Beyond for 4 years now. I am in management. It is a great place to shop for high end items that you will get cheaper versions of at big box stores. It is not such a fantastic place to work. I can tell you that where they used to be customer service based, they are now sales driven. They expect all of the store employees to be good salesman. If they do not meet their quota, the associates are verbally abused. There bad attitude toward their workers reflects onto their customer satisfaction. I have also noticed a severe lack of African American employees. Jeremy Joe Fran the 3rd on Aug 15, 2009
I too am a five year salaried keyholder at a store in Kansas. I broke my foot coming down the stairs in the morning with the drawers.
They do allow you to use one week of sick time. Then workmans comp kicks in. Workmans comp pays you 60 percent of your pay. If you have any responsibilities like, kids, wife, car payment, house payment etc... Its really hard on all of those responsibilities.
I really do enjoy working for the company, they have great insurance compared to others. They also do offer sort of a short term leave, in AFLAC, but that is expensive and really doesnt cover that extra 40 percent lost.
We do have the best customer service in retail, its all in who you hire to help your customers. My district manager is kind of a dick, and likes to play mind games with everyone. bobsperks on Sep 25, 2007
