Supercool. We were sent a link to Automata and have been trying to grasp these lights ever since. An Australian company started by designer Paul Gurry, Automata sells pendant lamps that you put together from multiple, slotted pieces that are shippped flat and can be assembled in about 30 minutes.

I live in Adelaide and I frequently see Paul's lights hanging about in local clubs and stores.
I can confirm that the results are amazing when they're not being photographed too.
I don't have any pendant light fittings in my current house so I'm still able to take the time to decide between the novalite and the geigerlite (I'll be saving the star shaped lights for when I have kids and need to decorate their rooms).
It's good to see Australian based designers featured!
