I had a terrible experience with Apartment Zero. The piece I bought was clearly defective, and it took several calls and letters over several months for the store to even try to rectify the situation. Strongly recommend against buying from that store. DL in DC on Apr 16, 2009

I saw Apartment Zero's owner, Douglas Burton, give an incredible talk at the Phillips Collection. He really understands objects; his broad knowledge of what’s new, what’s up-and-coming and what’s being designed is unfathomed. No wonder his store has such a collection, it reflects his far-reaching design knowledge. My partner and I registered at his store for our wedding because we wanted unique gifts that are not mass-produced. The staff was incredibly polite and friendly. smithoncolumbia on Apr 14, 2009
