Deep Mountain Maple Syrup
It's the time of year to really enjoy the deep flavor of good maple syrup, and the best I've had in memory is from Howie and Steph Cantor, who travel down from Vermont each week to sell it in NYC. I had it at a friend's house recently (the pic is taken in their fridge), but they bought it at the Union Square Greenmarket. This is powerful, special maple syrup and the Cantor's are proud that it's the syrup of choice of a ton of top chefs in the area, including those at the Gramercy Tavern, the Union Square Cafe, City Bakery and WD50.
